Around 12 percent of all TUM alumni now live outside Germany and are spread across the globe. At numerous events worldwide, they regularly come together to maintain connections and strengthen their network – as seen here at a gathering in Singapore in 2024.
With over 120,000 alumni around the globe, the TUM Community forms a vibrant, international network. What makes it special is that it thrives on the voluntary engagement of its members. Many initiatives emerge directly from the community itself – including the alumni meetups, which are organized locally by dedicated alumni.
CONNECTED TOGETHER – LOCALLY AND GLOBALLY
Alumni meetups offer an opportunity to actively maintain a connection with TUM even after graduation. In an informal setting, alumni come together to share professional and personal experiences and to expand their networks – no matter where in the world they are.
A look at past meetups highlights the diversity and international reach of the community: from Brussels to Zurich, Amsterdam, and Vienna, and on to Basel and London, numerous gatherings have taken place. The network is also active beyond Europe – for example, in Bangalore, São Paulo, San Francisco, Boston, Singapore, and multiple cities in China.
The range of events varies from smaller, personal gatherings to larger occasions, such as the chapter launch in Singapore with over 50 participants. In total, numerous meetups and additional alumni events have been organized in close collaboration with TUM’s worldwide offices.
BY THE COMMUNITY, FOR THE COMMUNITY
Alumni meetups exemplify what makes the TUM Community special: initiative, international connectedness, and a willingness to share knowledge and experiences. Each gathering is as unique as the people who organize it – and that is precisely its strength. Students enrolled at TUM, who are currently in the area (for example for a stay abroad) are always welcome to join as well. This makes the meetups a bridge between the generations of the TUM Community.
At the same time, the meetups provide a platform to gain new insights, establish professional contacts, and remain part of a global network that extends far beyond your time at university.

No meetup taking place in your region yet? Then take the initiative and bring the TUM Community together locally. Organizing your own meetup is straightforward – and we are happy to support you. You set the time, date and place and we create and handle the registration, spread the news to the TUM Community in your area and promote the event via our channels. It’s as easy as that.
