TUM AMBASSADOR 2025

Rehovot, Israel

Professor: Department of Molecular Cell Biology & Department of Molecular Neuroscience Weizmann Institute of Science, Alexander von Humboldt Fellow

Several stays at TUM: 2017-2024 at Professor Thomas Misgeld, Institute for Cell Biology of the Nervous System

TUM host Thomas Misgeld:

“Professor Oren Schuldiner is a leading researcher on the mechanisms that the brain uses to remodel during development, which he studies in fruit flies using a wide range of techniques from omics to imaging. He has been a friend and supporter of TUM for a long time – starting with a year-long sabbatical and followed by continuous collaboration and involvement in teaching MSc-level classes for our students.”

TUM Ambassador Professor Oren Schuldiner:

“My cooperation with TUM and Professor Misgeld began in 2010, with blended seminars and reciprocal visits. Our deep scientific discussions often continued on hikes in the Alps or the Negev desert. During my sabbatical, I enjoyed engaging with TUM students and colleagues, many of whom I am still in contact with today. Ger – we even learned that biking to kindergarten through snowstorms could be fun!”
